Assessments & Standards

Somerset Academy is committed to fostering academic excellence by aligning its curriculum with state standards and employing a variety of assessments to monitor and enhance student performance.

These assessments, along with a robust curriculum, enable Somerset Academy to provide personalized instruction and support, ensuring that all students achieve their academic goals.

Schoolwide assessments include:

• Required statewide assessments
  • F.A.S.T. progress monitoring assessments in reading and math in the fall, winter, and spring for all grade levels K-5.
  • B.E.S.T. Writing assessment in spring for 4th & 5th grade.
  • Science in spring for 5th grade (assessed on 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade science standards).
• Progress monitoring
  • iReady diagnostic in reading and math in the fall, winter, and spring for all grade levels K-5.  Tied to standards-based personalized instruction and serves as a second data point.
  • Write Score writing assessments (1-3 times per year depending on grade level)
  • Classroom chapter/unit assessments

All of our instruction is based on the Florida B.E.S.T. and subject area standards.
