Dear Somerset Families,

Welcome to the founding year of Somerset Academy Avenir Middle School, opening for the 2026–2027 school year. Building on the successful launch of our K–5 campus, Somerset Avenir Middle School extends our mission and vision through a private, boutique middle school experience designed for families seeking rigor, flexibility, and purposeful learning.

As founding principal, I am proud to lead the development of a middle school program rooted in academic excellence and intentional design. Drawing on my experience as a middle school principal, Somerset leader, and educator, our program was created to meet the unique academic and developmental needs of middle school learners—while remaining deeply connected to the values and culture that define Somerset Avenir.

At Somerset Academy Avenir Middle School, academics come first. Our curriculum & instruction is aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and emphasizes project-based, entrepreneurial learning that challenges students to think critically, collaborate, and apply their learning in authentic ways. Students earn core credits annually in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, supported by flexible scheduling, accelerated pathways, and outcome-based grading focused on mastery.

Students also participate in a dynamic elective and advisory program, including Physical Education, Digital Literacy, college and career planning, leadership development, and targeted academic support. With 1:1 technology, modern classrooms, and opportunities for industry certifications, enrichment, athletics, and clubs, students experience a well-rounded and engaging middle school education.

Opening with a limited number of sixth grade classes, Somerset Academy Avenir Middle School offers a small, personalized learning environment where every student is known, supported, and challenged. Co-located on the Somerset Avenir campus, students benefit from a familiar setting while stepping confidently into a distinct middle school experience.
